Digital Schools of Distinction is a flagship programme which aims to promote, recognise and encourage excellence in the use of technology in primary schools.
Schools that successfully complete the 3 step programme will receive a nationally recognised Digital School of Distinction Award, accredited by the Dept. of Education.  Digital Schools of Distinction will also receive free hardware and software and ongoing practical support and resources as part of the community of digital schools in Ireland.
We are actively working towards attaining this award using the resources available to us and buckets of imagination!

A few examples of initiatives being undertaken in our school currently are:
- station teaching: pupils work in groups using computers in the Resource Room for research and to learn basic computer skills. We use a special website for all our station teaching work.  www.resourcekns.weebly.com
- project work: We have produced PowerPoint presentations for our Science application as well as Enterprise Awards Competition in the Bank Of Ireland.  Both are available to see on this website!
- assistive technology: pupils with additional educational needs access the curriculum using technology
- BYOD Fridays - senior students all bring in their own devices on Fridays and engage in independent learning via KAHOOT quizzes as well as engaging in coding activities.
- school website articles - pupils write reports on various events for inclusion on school website;
- Facebook - we use our school Facebook page to celebrate school successes and spread the good news on our school!
